Caroline’s Pop-Up Restaurant to Open at North Market Downtown
New concept from Chef Justin Wotring brings gourmet sandwiches, salads, and seasonal soups to Columbus
North Market Downtown is welcoming a new addition this fall: Caroline’s, a pop-up restaurant from local Chef Justin Wotring, opening Friday, October 17, 2025. The pop-up will operate Thursdays through Sundays with no set end date, serving up elevated comfort food in the heart of the city.
Caroline’s menu features gourmet sandwiches, fresh salads, and seasonal soups, all crafted with the philosophy that great food starts with family and community. Chef Wotring, who runs chefwotring.com, named the concept after his niece, a reminder of why he cooks and what truly matters: “Family first, always.”

The Caroline’s experience is all about comfort meeting quality. Guests can expect hearty, hand-crafted sandwiches layered with bold flavors — from the Three Stacks loaded with capicola, salami, and pepperoni, to the Ham and Che featuring Leoncini ham, brie, and wild herb aioli. Fresh salads like the Caroline’s Salad and Petite Piglet highlight crisp greens and house dressings, while sides such as chipotle aioli fries round out the offerings.
“Justin is a proper chef and a true talent, known most recently for his run at the Market with COLO and, before that, with several well-known restaurants around Columbus. In addition to Caroline’s, Wotring will also operate the newly relaunched North Market Butchery, located next door, where he will bring the same passion for quality and craft to premium meats and house-prepared selections. Together, Caroline’s and North Market Butchery underscore Wotring’s deep commitment to feeding and serving the Columbus community.
Caroline’s will be located in the north east corner of the North Market, with North Market Butchery operating in the stall next door.
