Brittany Baum started Brezel to bring the authentic taste of Bavarian pretzels to Columbus. With over 60 unique flavors and delicious dipping sauces, Brezel draws pretzel lovers from near and far. Whether you go for a giant pretzel or a mix of smaller ones, every bite delivers. Fan favorites include Jalapeño Cheddar, Everything, Asiago, Herb & Cracked Pepper, Garlic Lovers & Parmesan, Havarti Dill, Cinnamon Sugar, and of course, the O.G. Original. You’ll also find soup bowls and custom-shaped pretzels on the menu!
How Did the Idea Come About?
Founder Brittany Baum fell in love with pretzels during a trip to Germany with her grandparents. There, pretzels were everywhere—even gas station ones were amazing. She quickly realized they were unlike any she’d had before. Years later, on a business trip back to Germany, she found herself enjoying those same pretzels again. Inspired, she returned home determined to recreate the authentic versions she’d grown to love. Her recipe experiments soon led to sellouts at local farmers’ markets, and in 2011, Brezel was born with a permanent spot in the North Market.

Brittany loves the North Market for its history, community, and supportive fellow merchants. One of the biggest rewards for her and Brezel is the chance to share their creations. She values the spirit of collaboration—merchants often help each other out, whether it’s sharing ingredients or lending equipment in a pinch. It truly feels like a family.
What are the Must Order Pretzels?
- The Grapefruit Cardamom Honey Pretzel pops up about once a year and is one of Brittany’s favorites.
