Hoyo’s Kitchen
Hoyo’s Kitchen (Hoyo translates to Mother in Somali) brings authentic Somali cuisine to North Market’s merchant mix with the opening of their second location in August 2019. Along with his family, Abdilahi “A.B.” Hassan opened the first Hoyo’s location in 2014 on Columbus’s North Side. Their aim is to introduce guests to Somali food and ultimately reach a wider audience. By combining traditional food with the modern fast-casual delivery method, A.B. and his family encourage guests to try their family recipes that taste both exotic and familiar at the same time. The hope is that the general public will increase their comfort level with African cuisine overall.
