About The Barrel & Bottle:

Jen Burton & Collin Castore started with Beer and Wine however, thanks to the passing of Sip & Stroll, they were able to bring their beautiful full service bar to the North Market. The well placed Green Portion of the wall is sure to catch your eye. They carry Wine & Beer from around the world as well as local Columbus Breweries. The Barrel & Bottle also offers a unique and impressive monthly wine club based on the seasons. This has made them a local destination for well made cocktails and a friendly welcoming wealth of knowledge. They are able to help visitors find anything from a basic bottle of wine to helping them step out of their comfort zone and try new things. They may even pop in a well placed joke about the “old days and Mad Dog 20/20”, so next time you’re at the North Market, make sure to pay them a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

How Did the Idea Come About?

Having known each other since the 8th grade coupled with their extensive knowledge & background in Beer & Wine, it seemed like a no-brainer and perfect timing when the space opened up at the North Market. They have expanded twice and kind of attribute this to a joking thought about sipping Bloody Mary’s while walking through the North Market on Sunday mornings.

What’s your favorite thing about being a part of the North Market?

The support from the North Market staff and visionaries, the community, and their fellow Merchants are just a few of the reasons Jen & Collin love being a part of the North Market. They are constantly seeing the repeat clients and getting to know them, but also look forward to welcoming visitors and guests of Columbus and often see the entirety of the North Market as an Ambassador of the City.

What is a Beer and a Wine that are a Must Have?

Jen recommended the Bonny Doon (White Blend) for the wine & for the Beer, Collin recommended the Seventh Son Scientist IPA. But must haves are often based on occasion and food, so please defer to the staff to point you in the right direction.
