Marlow’s Cheesesteaks to Expand to North Market Downtown
North Market Downtown Welcomes a Culinary Gem with the Arrival of Marlow’s Cheesesteaks, Founded by Shanika and Jomar Sheppard
Columbus, OH – September 24, 2024 – North Market is thrilled to announce the upcoming grand opening of Marlow’s Cheesesteaks, an exciting new addition to its Downtown location. The beloved cheesesteak spot is the creation of Shanika and Jomar Sheppard, a talented husband-and-wife team dedicated to bringing the classic Philly cheesesteak to central Ohio.
A job transfer brought these Philadelphia natives to Columbus in 2017, and the couple later transitioned into the food industry in 2021. Marlow’s Cheesesteaks was first established as a Food Trailer in 2021 and the pair opened their first Brick & Mortar location in April of 2022. The North Market Downtown location marks the third full time restaurant for the Sheppards. Shanika and Jomar recently made the decision to expand beyond their original Brick & Mortar in Gahanna, Ohio to Budd Dairy Food Hall and as an outpost this season during The Ohio State University home football games at Ohio Stadium.

The menu will consist of the following: Cheesesteaks with a beef and chicken options, Veggie Cheesesteak, Salmon Cheesesteak, french fries, water ice and featured beverage line will be Hank’s Beverages which hail from Philadelphia.

Marlow’s Cheesesteaks will begin serving customers in the next few weeks, with a target opening date no later than mid-October. Their restaurant will be located inside North Market Downtown’s market house at the north west corner, across the aisle from Lan Viet and COLO Market & Oyster Bar. Hours of operation for the restaurant will be Sunday & Monday: 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Tuesday – Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
