Bubbles has quickly become a well known and quickly expanding tea and juice destination in Columbus. Just take a look at that eye-catching logo. Hand crafted and thoughtfully designed, Bubbles offers a variety of Organic Cold-Pressed Juices, Whole Fruit Smoothies, Bubble Teas, and Açaí Bowls. The quality of the ingredients are a very important part of the recipes. Their knowledgeable, friendly and eager team members are there to help you decide the best flavor profile for your tastebuds that day. Whether you are just grabbing one of their creative teas or smoothies, or if you are looking for a healthy quick bite to eat, you’re going to walk away refreshed and happy with whatever amazing creation you choose.
How did the idea come about?
Founder Eric Ling loves tea and realized after a trip to California, the lack of tea and juice spots here in Columbus. When he returned, he decided to leave the corporate world and get Bubbles started. Emerging from a small Kiosk at Easton Town Center by the fountain, the word quickly spread and it seemed like an overnight sensation. Eric approached the North Market and had just 30 days to get the business ready to go. With no help, this entrepreneur built out the plan, created the recipes & logo, and entered the North Market. This was the first location and just the beginning of growing to 14 locations as of early 2025. Long time friends of Eric, Darrel and his wife Alex, decided to buy into the brand and 11 of the 14 locations Bubbles has started to date as of July 2024.
What’s your favorite thing about being a part of the North Market?
Darrel & Alex love the endless amount of resources and experience the North market has to offer. They feel it is a genuine food community and destination that is “Purely Columbus” in their own words. The loyalty from the city and repeat customers drives them to continue to grow with the community. This and being able to bring their creations to people from all over the country, due to the proximity to the Convention Center(you may see their pop-up there as well), are a few of the things they are thankful for in being part of the North Market.
What are 2 must order items on the menu?
- Darrel is a huge fan of all of their Cold Pressed Juices, but for must order tea, he said sometimes they have a honeydew melon tea smoothie w/strawberry popping bubbles. Ask about it when you visit!
- Alex said her must order is the Mango Tea with any Bubbles and this is always available. Make it your own with your choice of bubbles!
Story of Bubbles Tea & Juice:
Eric Ling founded and as described “got this well oiled machine rolling”. He and Darrel have been friends for a very long time and as Bubbles continued to evolve, Darrel and Alex (wife) saw the values in Bubbles that met who they are as a family and didn’t hesitate to buy and become part of this great brand. In July of 2024 they took over 11 of 14 locations and grew from 2 to 106 employees in just 3 months! Having 2 teen girls, they even had at-the-ready taste testers’, as their girls love Bubbles! They credit the smoothness of the transition to Eric’s brilliant business plan and set up. They look to develop and help grow all their employees as most of them are younger and maybe even their first job, describing the fulfillment they have from mentoring. Darrel & Alex see them as “Their Kids” and are looking to instill some hard work mentality while teaching them things they can take forward in their life. They want to help them go on to succeed. Darrel & Alex look forward to the future growth of the brand and can’t wait for you to try Bubbles!
