Tajine House
Tajine House is North Market Downtown’s fresh, prepared Moroccan food concept.
Owners Alex Daray, Lotfi Khomsi, and Mourad Bassou have launched a quick-service Moroccan restaurant offering freshly prepared dishes, recipes, and favorites from their homeland.
Although Daray and Kohmsi each immigrated to the United States in 2001, it wasn’t until 2007 that they met in Columbus. Khomsi had recently opened Casablanca Market in Hilliard and Daray became a frequent customer. From there a friendship developed between their families, and they eventually began discussing a business partnership.
Bassou immigrated to the United States in 1996 and met Kohmsi when he and Bassou’s sister were married. The two became business partners and he was eventually introduced to Daray where another friendship and business partnership developed. Bassou brings a wealth of restaurant experience to the
group having previously worked as a server and bartender.
With Khomsi’s restaurant and market experience, Bassou’s apprenticeship in local restaurants, and Daray’s diverse business background, the opportunity to operate Park Street Poultry and Game was an ideal scenario for the friends to pursue that partnership.
The Tajine House menu includes dishes such as Moroccan Kafta, chicken kabab, chicken shawarma, along with a wide variety of sides including couscous, cucumber salad, Moroccan Loubya, plus assorted drinks and desserts including Moroccan Tea and more.
